This privacy notice explains what personal data Gift Universe collects from individuals who visit our websites, contact us using our web forms, by email, SMS messages, phone or through one of our social channels; or other marketing communications (“you”, “your”). It also explains what information we collect automatically when you visit our websites.

As an information-led business, we place great importance on ensuring the quality, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data we hold and in meeting our data protection obligations when processing personal data. Gift Universe are also committed to protecting the security of your personal data. We use a variety of technical and organisational measures to help protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
We update this privacy notice from time to time in response to changes in applicable laws and regulations, to our processing practices and to the products and services we offer. When changes are made, we will update the date at the bottom of this notice. Please review this privacy notice periodically to check for updates.
What information do we process?
We process all information you give to us, either through our websites (“our sites”) or by corresponding with us by telephone, email or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you use our sites, make a purchase, subscribe to a service, offer online content creation or influencing services, register as an affiliate, search for a product or service, use the social media functions linked to one of our sites, or when you report a problem with one of our sites.
Some of our products are designed for children. Therefore we are aware that we must be extra cautious when processing personal data. In most cases, we do not envisage the collection of personal data directly from any children. We anticipate and assume we will be collecting personal data only from parents, guardians or a person with parental responsibility.
If you are under the age of 13, you may only provide personal data if you have the consent of, and are supervised by, a parent, guardian, or a person with parental responsibility.
If we believe a child under 13 has placed an order, we will not process any personal data of that child without the consent of the parent, guardian or a person with parental responsibility. Cookies and Web Beacons
We use cookies on our websites and web beacons in some emails. Cookies are small text files and web beacons are small graphic images. They are downloaded to your device when you visit a website or receive certain emails, unless you have set your browser to reject them. It is our legitimate interest to communicate (via email, SMS and other channels) with you regarding viewed products or items added to your basket;
Create a profile of your interests and preferences (via completed surveys, purchase history, on-site activity or preferences provided to us) to offer a personalised shopping experience with us

In order to promote our products and services online through collaboration with online affiliates, content creators and influencers, we will process any associated personal data with your consent, which may be withdrawn at any time by emailing privacy@giftuniverse.com;
Improving our websites and the overall website visitor and user experience
It is our legitimate interest to allow analytics and search engine providers to help improve and personalise the user experience and to optimise our websites. We use cookies on our websites with your consent;
CCTV images (including Body Worn Video) captured in retail outlets to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and customers
It is our legitimate interest to capture CCTV and Body Worn Video images in our retail outlets for the safety and security of our employees, customers and stock; and
Sending emails for upcoming occasions, special occasions and events which may or may not contain marketing material
It is our legitimate interest to send these emails to existing customers, or to potential customers who have consented to receiving marketing communications. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by emailing privacy@giftuniverse.com.
Sharing your information
We will rarely share your personal data outside the United Kingdom (“UK”) or the European Economic Area (the 27 EU member states plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein - “EEA”). If it becomes necessary for the purposes of providing our services to you, we will only share it where appropriate safeguards are in place to ensure your personal data is protected to the same standard expected within the UK and EEA.
We have a legitimate interest to share images uploaded by you with certain suppliers, to fulfil personalised gift orders. Uploaded images will be stored by Gift Universe for a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 60 days, to allow for satisfactory fulfilment of your order.
Our websites include links to our social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and others). Once you navigate away from our site via one of the links, the next site may collect your IP address and may set a cookie on your device. When you use one of these links, you are sharing information to another website or service and this privacy notice will no longer apply. Mobile Terms of Service

The Gift Universe mobile message service (the "Service") is operated by Gift Universe (“Gift Universe”, “we”, “us”). Your use of the Service constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions (“Mobile Terms”). We may modify or cancel the Service or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.
By consenting to our SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Gift Universe through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided. Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialling system or other technology. Service-related messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.). Promotional messages may include promotions, specials, and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders).
You understand that you do not have to sign up for this program in order to make any purchases, and your consent is not a condition of any purchase with Gift Universe. Your participation in this program is completely voluntary.
We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan and contact your wireless provider for details. You are solely responsible for all charges related to SMS/text messages, including charges from your wireless provider.
You may opt-out of the Service at any time. Text the single keyword command STOP to Gift Universe or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel. You will receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device, unless initiated by you. If you have subscribed to other Gift Universe mobile message programs and wish to cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise, you will need to opt out separately from those programs by following the instructions provided in their respective mobile terms.

We may change any short code or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. You acknowledge that any messages, including any STOP or HELP requests, you send to a short code or telephone number we have changed may not be received and we will not be responsible for honouring requests made in such messages.
The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to sign up for the program with your new number.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.
Your rights
The GDPR provides you with certain rights in relation to the processing of your personal data, including to:
· Request access to personal data about you (a “subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are processing it lawfully.
· Request rectification, correction, or updating to any of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
· Request personal data provided by you to be transferred in machine-readable format.
· Request erasure of personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove personal data where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below).

If at any time you decide that you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, or if you would like to exercise any of your rights as set out above, you can contact us at privacy@giftuniverse.com. You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.
In addition to the above, please note you have the right to make a complaint at any time to Gift Universe as the Controller of your personal data if you are concerned about the way in which we are handling your personal data. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you can raise a further complaint with the Information Commission.
Data retention period
We will retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to provide you with our products and ongoing services and support, and for a reasonable period thereafter, to enable us to meet our contractual and legal obligations and to deal with any complaints and claims.
At the end of the retention period, your personal data will be securely deleted in accordance with our Personal Data Retention Policy. Retention periods are available upon request.
