This experience is available selected dates from April to October,  20.00 to 07.00 the following day. Exclusions may apply.

How long will my experience last?

On arrival at 20.00, you’ll be met by prison staff, let into the prison through the huge wooden gates and shown to your traditional Victorian cell for the night. As part of this experience, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the prison featuring stops such as themed cells, the segregation unit and more. After the tour, you’re free to spend your time as you wish – whether that’s exploring the site, retiring to your cell, ghost hunting or playing games. The original prison kitchen will serve hot meals and snacks until 22.00. You are woken early in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee and a hearty breakfast before being released back into the world at 07.00.

What else do I need to know?

• Minimum age: 18
• The prisons welcome all visitors, however, the nature of our the historic sites means that in parts the buildings may present difficulties for people with disabilities and those with limited mobility..
• The vast majority of the site is accessible but there are the traditional stairs between the landings which may cause difficulties.
• There are disabled toilets, and the on-site restaurant is fully accessible. If you have any questions for the team prior to your visit, please contact them directly.
