We can’t reveal what’s behind every little door, but we will answer all your other Advent calendar burning questions.
What is an Advent Calendar Used For?
An Advent calendar is used as a fun and exciting way to count down the days of Advent, leading up to Christmas. The first day of Advent is traditionally on the Sunday that either falls on, or closest to 30 November. Depending on the year, it can be anywhere between 27 November and 3 December. Most Advent calendars have 24 little doors which are opened one by one to reveal a small gift or treat.
Do You Start an Advent Calendar at 1 or 24?
The correct way to work through an Advent calendar is to start at door (or window) number 1. So technically that means you’re counting your way UP and not down to Christmas right? But hey, who’s counting? Doing the whole counting thing in reverse isn’t fun, and Advent calendars are all about getting the fun festivities started early on. So it only makes sense to start at the beginning.
