Valentine’s Night In Ideas for a Romantic Date at Home
With social guidelines now starting to relax like a stressed banker after their third drink, we’re able to go out on dates again. But, just because we can, doesn’t mean we always want to. In fact, when it comes to a romantic Valentine’s date, a night in can be fantastic. And, we have some great Valentine’s night in ideas right here!
Yep, at home you don’t have crazy crowds, super-busy restaurants, and all the pressure that comes with the biggest date night of the year. By staying in, you can create a clam, relaxing, and romantic atmosphere for your special someone.
So, what do we have up our sleeves as far as date night ideas go? We’re so glad you asked. Scroll down to kick things off!
Valentine’s Night In Ideas
So, we have a few ideas of how to make your Valentine’s night in super romantic and fun. For a great night, you could do them all. But, no pressure. You can always pick and choose the ones that sound best to you and just go for those. So, with that said, here we go.
Start with some drinks
When you have someone over, the evening usually gets started with drinks. It’s just a thing. Like when you arrive for a doctor’s appointment on time, you know you’re going to have to wait. But, unlike the doctor’s, drinks at the door are a really good tradition to keep alive. Especially if you’re a little nervous, they’re a great way to get the ball rolling.
Not sure what to pour? That’s the easy part. We’ve got loads of great choices. You could get creative and mix up some cocktails using this rose copper cocktail shaker. Make a special Valentine’s themed drink with some Galaxy Dust Raspberry Rum (call it something like, ‘Written in the Stars’… just a suggestion). Or, you could go with a bit of a themed night with this Stormtrooper Valentine’s Thirst Aid Beer Kit.
Make dinner
Dinner can be a super romantic thing. Put aside all thoughts of a dinner lady slopping mushy peas onto a plate in a department store cafeteria. Or don’t, if that does it for you. Point is, cooking is a great way to (ahem) turn up the heat on date night. You could do all the preparation ahead of time, or you could do the cooking together and do a little Swayze/Moore in Ghost sort of thing.
Get hands-on in the kitchen with this Chorizo Sausage Making Kit. Or, get spicy with this set of four curry packs from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, India, and Thailand. Or, make things smokier than a ‘30s jazz bar with this Homemade Bacon Curing Kit.
Play board games
We know what you’re thinking; ‘Hmmmm, board games… I play those with my family on Sunday visits. They’re less romantic than rubber-souled socks in bed.’
Well, all we can say is that they’re not all made for families. In fact, they can get naughtier than an OnlyFans account. Take Horny Devil as an example, which is an 18+ card game that’s like sexy Dobble. Or, maybe Pick Your Poison, which is like an adult version of Would You Rather?. And, don’t forget What Do You Meme?, where the cheekiest meme wins.
Laughter is always attractive, so these games are sure to help the evening go in the right direction.
Watch a movie
It’s Netflix and chill time. But, like, literally. Have a few movie options lined up so you don’t end up scrolling indecisively through the choices for hours until you both couldn’t care less anymore.
Depending on the mood, you could pick a fun romcom or a tear-jerker like the Notebook. And, don’t forget about the classics like Casablanca. But, if you both have an early start the next day, stay away from Gone with the Wind. At 3 hours and 58 minutes, that can feel like it goes on longer than the time your mum first tried to tell you about the birds and the bees.
So, with the movie picked out, all you need is a blanket and some snacks. Popcorn is always a classic. But, instead of throwing a bag in the microwave, you could make your own gourmet salted caramel popcorn with this Joe and Seph’s Make Your Own Popcorn Kit. Or, if you fancy something sweeter, you could make your own candy floss with this Candy Floss Maker. Prefer savoury? No problem. You can get all the savoury snacks you need in this Savoury Snacks and Wine Gift Box.
Exchange gifts
Giving gifts is always a fun part of the evening, especially if you’ve absolutely nailed the gift this year. Watching your someone special open a Valentine’s present that you’ve put a lot of thought into is a fantastic feeling. And, if you’re still not sure what to get your partner, you’re in luck. We have some fantastic choices on our site.
In our Valentine’s gifts for him collection you’ll find gifts for boyfriends and husbands, plus you can shop by the kind of guy you’re buying for. Same goes for Valentine’s gifts for her, where you can choose from collections like romantic gifts, gifts to make her giggle, and much more.
So, with that, you have everything you need to plan a brilliant date night at home. Hope it goes well!
