Star Wars The Last Jedi App-Enabled R2-D2

R2-D2: an icon of cinema, a legend of the silver screen, lovable, heroic, ubiquitous and instantly recognisable. We’ve been waiting for R2 to come to the office for a long, long time, gentle internet shoppers, and now, finally, he’s ready to help save a galaxy far, far away - or your living room.

This is an incredible replica of everyone’s favourite robotic mischief-maker and hero: the details are stunning, from the eye to the chrome dome to the pristine white body. As iconic as he is, that might be enough, but this is no mere display piece, no. This is a fully operational, iOS and Android app-compatible droid. You can drive him around yourself, or even cooler, you can set him to patrol about on his own (though watch it, he has a habit of getting involved with the story and accidentally running into Princesses with Battle Station plans when you’re not looking). R2 is designed to mimic the movements of the film version precisely - his third leg extends and retracts in a manner identical to the ‘real’ R2-D2, and his lights are also authentic. He also makes the familiar sounds of an astromech droid, with all the boops, beeps and whistles coming directly from his in-built speaker.

He can also interact with other Star Wars App-enabled Droids from Sphero, meaning that if you have BB-8 or BB-9E, you’ll be able to get more out of them (though we can’t guarantee they’ll all get on…). You can also sit down and watch Star Wars with him, where no doubt he’ll have a running commentary for you… it’s just a shame we don’t speak droid.
