Who or what is BB-9E? That’s the question that has dominated the office while we wrote this description, dear internet shoppers. We can tell you what he looks like – he looks like BB-8’s evil brother. More likely, he’s probably a loyal First Order droid, helping keep their ships in shape, ready to take on the Resistance. Almost certain to be an unpleasant character (unless the story wants to throw something new and ridiculous our way), but definitely a cool-looking customer. And before anyone else gets to see him in action, you, dear shopper, have the chance to own a replica of him for yourself.

This is not, however, just a pretty looking replica of this new villain droid on the block. This is an iOS and Android compatible droid that can be driven around by you, or can be left to patrol your Star Destroyer (or, y’know, your boring old house) on his own, rolling along exactly like the other famous BB droid. He’s designed to interact with other Star Wars App-enabled Droids from Sphero, and with the App and the Droid Trainer you can make him do just about anything, putting him through his paces with holographic simulations that feel right out of the galaxy far, far away. You can even sit down and watch Star Wars with him, although we can’t guarantee he’ll have anything inspirational to say.
