When can I go?

This experience is available on selected dates throughout the year. :

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

The experience last approximately 5 hours. Please arrive at the forge at least 10 minutes prior to your booking time - this allows time to introduce you to your blacksmith and run through the Health & Safety requirements..

How long will my experience last?

Upon arrival at the Oldfield Forge, you’ll be welcomed by one of their resident blacksmiths before taking a tour of the showroom and learning more about how a working forge operates.

Your blacksmith with then help you to forge your very own bespoke piece, which you’ll be able to take home at the end of your session.

What else do I need to know?

• Minimum age: 18
• The Oldfield Forge require a Health & Safety form to be completed by all participants attending the forging experiences. This form will be sent to you upon confirmation of your booking  with all the details you will require for the day
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary

At The Academy, you’ll spend a full day learning traditional blacksmithing techniques from skilled experts. Over five hours, you will be guided through every step of the process, creating a unique, bespoke piece of ironwork using time-honoured methods.

Start by drawing inspiration from the incredible work displayed in the showroom, then dive into your own hands-on experience. By the end of the day, you’ll have your very own ironwork masterpiece to take home, crafted entirely by your own hands. This is a perfect opportunity to learn, create, and embrace the timeless art of blacksmithing.
