Experience a day at the races at home with this exciting, betting family board game. Race your horse around the board in this game of bluffing, deception and double-crossing. Stay loyal by betting on your own horse or secretly back another, but make sure you don't tell the other players who you've bet on.
The aim of the game is to collect the most prize money after 6 nail biting races. You can either play as an owner of a horse or as a punter, so you can either bet and race your own horse or bet on a rival's horse. How you go about winning however is completely up to you, as the game comes complete with a pack of "Really Nasty" playing cards for you to sabotage the race to effect your opponents. Make horses slip up or even veer sidewards with one of these cards and even if they make it through this you can play your Stewards Enquiry or objection card to turn the result into your favour.
Each player starts with £20,000 (horse racing money of course) , a number of “Really Nasty” playing cards and of course the vital betting slip. Then every player is administered with six horses – one for each race and graded from 1 to 6 with 1 being the stallion horse and 6 being the horse that’s normally left behind. Once this is decided each player must choose which horse will run which specific race. This is when the true tactics come into play! However you will still have to consider the odds and your fellow betters to have the best chance of winning.
A bookmaker is assigned at the start of the game to control the lane placings which are drawn before each race, and the horse that draws the inside lane. The way that the horses move is controlled by the throw of the dice, with each number of the die corresponding the amount of lengths which are made by the horse. You can affect the race as well, by using techniques such as blocking, cornering and changing lanes.
