With this experience you will get the opportunity to paddle either an open canoe or a kayak across the water, at some locations you will get to try both.

The kayaks and canoes used are very stable and designed for tuition so you are unlikely to fall out unless you try very hard!

From this half day session you will be able to take on this sport in a more in-depth way and if you really enjoy it, help you to progress on to BCU star awards.

Following registration you will meet your instructor who will fit you with your equipment, including buoyancy aid, boat and paddle (spray decks are available for experienced paddlers). There will then be a full safety briefing and explanation in the use of the equipment before going onto the water. Then it is time to take to the water.

You may also play some games to test your new skills.
Availability: This experience is available on selected Monday to Sunday dates, January to November, subject to availability.

Duration: Group sessions last approximately 2 to 4 hours.

Minimum Age: Restrictions vary depending on your chosen location, please check on booking.

Fitness: You must be reasonably fit and confident in the water. A medical declaration form must be completed before taking part. If under 18 this will need to be signed by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.

Qualifications Required: At some locations you must be able to swim 50m fully clothed (2 lengths of a standard pool), please check on booking.

Spectator Information: Spectators are welcome.

Weather Dependent: This experience is dependant on the weather.
